What's up, CNN?

CNN took the liberty of using my photo twice in the above segment without contacting me for permission or crediting me. You guys all know that THAT cupcake is definitely MY rainbow cupcake! I'm flattered that they thought the cupcake was good enough to use in the segment, but upset that I couldn't even get my name in the corner or an email letting me know they were using it. I know the photo is EVERYWHERE online (comes up #2 in a Google image search for "rainbow cupcake"), but it's not that hard to find the original owner of internet content. I sent them an email asking for the issue to be resolved, so I'll let y'all know how it turns out.

The photo in question, from my Triple Rainbow Cupcakes post:

  1. I would be LIVID if they pulled a stunt like that on me! LIV! ID!

That said, I was looking for rainbow cupcake ideas for a party we threw my toddler back in May, found your cupcakes, and I promptly put it up as my desktop, and I started following your blog because of it. :)

It's a gorgeous one, for sure, so I can see why they'd want to use it, but at the VERY least they should have let you know. Just because it's on the internet doesn't make it public property.

BTW, there is another cupcake blog out there and she likes to use photos of peoples' cupcakes without asking first, or telling you she will use the photos, even though in the case of mine it was obvious she got them from Flickr and could have easily been in touch. At least she gives credit with a link to peoples' photostreams.
